"I wasn't trying to leave a legacy. I was trying to do what was right."
-Dean Smith
Reflection: What this quote means is that this man Dean Smith was just doing the things that he felt were right.  He had a whole stadium build for him. Imagine how nice that felt. He really never liked to show his attention that much. He was a very kind man that always felt happy even for the losing team. From what I saw in the video he always goes up to the coach of the opposing team to tell him his thanks for coming and doing his best. This man was respected by so many people for all the kind things he does.
Example: At least every year he writes a letter to his formal players. Just to say hello and catch up on things. His team players really liked what he was doing and so they do so many things to respect him. Dean Smith wasn't a man who bragged about all his winning streaks and what a great coach he was. He showed all his respect to his players.

"It's not about how to achieve your dreams. It's about how you lead your life. If you lead your life the RIGHT WAY, the karma (destiny, fortune, good luck) will take care of itself. The dreams will come to you."
-Dr. Randy Pausch
Reflection: I agree with this quote because it's true what he's saying. If we do good things we usually get good things in return.
Example: If we get good grades our parents would be very happy. They might end up buying us something. Getting good grades also gives off good fortune for the future and better jobs. Even if we do succeed in doing something bad and we don't get caught at first, karma will come soon and we will get caught. A great example of this might be, how students tend to use their phones in class. Yeah maybe the first few times you won't get caught but if you keep getting reckless then sooner or later you will get caught. I think this quotes proves that if we do good things we will get good things in return.

"Of all the work that is done or that can be done for our country, the greatest is that of educating the BODY, the MIND, and above all the CHARACTER, giving spiritual and moral training to those who in a few years are themselves to decide the destinies of the nation."
-Theodore Roosevelt
Reflection: What this quote is saying is that the best thing we can ever do in our country is to focus on ourselves. Again like the previous quote, we just need to focus on our mind body etc. By doing all these thing we can become better people for our nation. We can focus more, do more, and achieve more. We can also become better people and we can start doing good things. If we don't turn out to be good humans then we might end up ruining this country even more. If our body, mind, character etc, is not good then we will achieve horrible things.
Example: An example of this can be if we don't focus on our pessimistic thoughts and we don't change them then what's good for our future? Our future will end up being bad and horrible disaster.

Medical/Health Volunteer Opportunities
" No One Should Die Alone, Need Volunteers" is a hospital (Silverado Hospice) that needs people to come and help patients in the patients' own home. Malena (the person in charge of this) will assign you a patient near your own home. All you have to do is listen to the patients' stories and be able to share photos with them, read a book to them etc. To apply you must contact Malena. There's a phone number and email address. What I find interesting is that you are treating the patient very nicely and you are doing things that may make them really happy. These injured people may be very grateful for you coming and using your own time to come and spend some time with them.

" Take responsibility for YOUR OWN body, mind, and spirit, for your own physical, mental. and spiritual well being."
-Mr. Haymore
Reflection: I agree with this quote because you should be the only one to handle your own body mind and spirit. This quote can perhaps mean how we need to focus on ourselves and change what needs to be changed. We should should focus on what we are doing wrong and we can change that. We can change our body by trying our best not to harm it. To improve our mind we must eliminate the negative feelings and thoughts we store. And for our spirit we must be good humans and do good needs. For example, we are the only ones that can change how we act. Our mothers can try to help but they won't do as much. If you know that you are an awful person then you should change that. If you're hurting your body only you have the choice to stop. If your mind is filled with thoughts that are pure negativity you and only you can put a stop to it.
LAUSD Student Services
LAUSD provides many educational things. One example can be how they have a plan on how to graduate high school. The website had stated how you need to have A-G requirements in order to pass. Another thing that the website has is how collage can be and it gives you many information like..... how to transfer from a community collage to a UC or CSU. LAUSD also has a digital library where you can find all tons of books. I think this is a good idea since if we can't go to a real library then we can just search up books here. This website also has a section about bullying. I think this is really thoughtful of them because many children might not know what to do when it comes to bullying so I think this is nice. It also has a LGBT link where it shows other links that can come in handy. It talks about how to handle these things. One example of the links is... " LGBT Student Safety: Steps Schools Can Take." It also has another link which talks about health and human services. It has few things where you can contact the administrator and an address.
I think that this LAUSD information may help others. After all it gives many options
about things. It's really nice how they talk about so many educational things. It shows things like
how we can graduate and how we can pass classes. I never knew how many links they had. It's pretty  impressive. Maybe I might start using to help me! (Just kidding I'll probably never use them in my entire life, sorry not sorry.)

"Intelligence is not enough. Intelligence plus character, that is the goal of true education"
-Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr
Reflection: This quote is proven wrong due to the fact that Martin Luther King Jr himself had a bad character. He was known to go seeing other women when he was married. Not to mention that many people can be very rude and still manage to succeed in life.
Example: There's always some grouchy doctor helping you. Or maybe some rude teacher. They have what seems to be good jobs that give some good money. A character can act differently towards some specific person. Having good character doesn't matter since we act different around people. Intelligence is what gets us our jobs. Do you think someone would care if you're a big sweetheart? Being stupid and having such a good personality does not get you a job. Just being smart is what gets you where you need to be. Well that's my opinion.

Neonatologist
Duties and Responsibilities: Neonatologists are pediatricians who have received additional specialized training in the care of infants.
Salary: $107,062-$236,503
Education: High School: 4 years, Collage degree: usually 4 years, Medical school: 4 years, Pediatric internship and residency: 3 years, Neonatology fellowship: 3 years

Reflection: Would I like to be one?
I wouldn't really want to be one due to the fact that it takes 18  years of your life time to be one. Not just that but taking care of newborns would get me scared that I might mess up and kill them. With older human beings it seems better since they can alert else and tells us if something's hurting them.

" We need the courage to START and CONTINUE what we should do, and the courage to STOP what we shouldn't do."
                                                              -Richard L. Evans
Reflection: What this quote is saying is that need to have courage to start or continue doing good needs. If we end up doing something bad we need to have the self-control and courage to say no.
Example: We can start to do homework earlier and not at 11 in the night. We can start helping our family by doing chores. We can continue to be respectful to our parents. We can continue cleaning up and taking care of our pet. We can stop ditching school and begin to care about our education. We can say no when someone offers us something we are not supposed to do. We need to be brave and know when we should say yes or no. We need to do what's best for us.

"When you tell one lie, it leads to another"
-Paul Hatch
Reflection: What this quote is saying is that when you say a lie it leads to the habit of saying another and another. I do agree somewhat with this quote. But let's remember that we are all different human beings and we are all capable of doing things that another being may have trouble with. There may be humans that can lie and be able to control themselves and gain the ability to not say another.
Example: Little kids may be the ones that tend to lie more often than human adults. When they do something bad like break a glass or not do their home work they will tend to lie and make an excuse or plan it on somebody else. They might whine and complain their "doings" on another classmates. It's true that lying may turn to a habit and a really bad one. Most places wouldn't like a liar working for them. Of course, sometimes you can't help but lie. But remember a lie is always a lie.
SCHOOL BREAK DAYS
A. What I did?
-In the first week, I helped my mom with the chores and taking care of my little brothers when she wasn't around. When it was Christmas my brother got an Xbox and my little brother got a guitar. In the second week, New Years came and my cousins came to cerebrate. On the third week my grandparents came for the first time, my aunt from Arizona came also for a day since she brought them. It was so much fun. We went to downtown and bought tons of things.
C. People I met?
-Well I met my grandparents again, since the last time I saw them was when I was 3. I also saw my cousin which I haven't seen since.
  F. CTR experiences?
-I helped my mom with the chores, helped her take care of my little brothers, I helped my grandma, did my bed, made breakfast for my brothers, and I helped my brother do his homework.
H. Did I have any homework?
-The only homework I had was to enjoy my break. Which I did! So it was pretty easy.
